About our Pastor

Rev. Vivian L. Rodeffer has served United Methodist Churches for over thirty years here in the New Jersey area.  A graduate of Temple University and Princeton Theological Seminary, her pastorates have included Wenonah UMC (7 years); Haddonfield UMC (4 years) where she produced a weekly TV series “On the King’s Highway” and during this time was elected Chairperson of the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry; Manahawkin UMC (8 years); seven years working with the bishop of New Jersey as District Superintendent with 66 churches under her care; interim senior pastor of the Medford UMC [350 in worship at three Sunday services] ; and then in July 2013 joyfully assumed pastoral duties at the Caldwell United Methodist Church.

She and her husband Rob McCombe have two daughters.  Robin (32), a part-time home interior designer is married to Jay Fisher, (classics professor) and they have a four year old son Johnny.  Susan (25) leads multisport trips for Backroads International and is working this summer in northern California.

Rob and Viv love gardening, the great outdoors, travel (anywhere) and our three cats.  Rob, retired as a systems analyst from Gartner Group (formerly McGraw Hill), is an accomplished guitarist and photographer.
